Our purpose is to provide the legal community and residents of Kern County with access to legal information services.   
Our goal is to provide current legal materials in a timely manner, so everyone may have equal access to justice. Assistance in using the collection shall be provided by the staff.
County Law Libraries in California are established and goverened pursuant to the provisions of the California Business and Professions Code, Section 6300 et seq. Section 6360 states that "...A law library established under this chapter shall be free to the judiciary, to state and county officials, to members of the State Bar and to all residents of the county, for the examination of books and other publications
Law Day at the Mall 2015

In celebration of National Law Day, the Kern County Bar Association, and the Kern County Law Library bring you a day of valuable information, including individual consultations with attorneys Free of Charge. Join us Thursday April 30, 2015 at the Valley Plaza Mall in fron of JC Penney.

Information will be available throughout the day beginning at 12P.M. and ending at 5:PM, in the areads of Bankruptcy, criminal law, landlords, tenants, real property, estate planning, family law, probate, domestic violence, guardianships, lawsuits, child support, immigration, education law, and many other issues!

There are no reservations, appointments are offered on a first-come first-serve basis.

During the month of April the following two attorney led workshops will be held in the Law Library.

Attorney Patrick Kavanagh will cover the different aspects of filing a bankruptcy including whether it is an option for you.
