Equal Access Newsletter (PDF)
Kern County Law Library Online

"We are open to the public for all of your research needs."

Our Mission
Our purpose is to provide the legal community and citizens of Kern County with access to legal information services.

Our goal is to provide current legal materials in a timely manner, so everyone may have equal access to justice. Assistance in using the collection shall be provided by the staff.

We have been serving Kern County since 1891 as a nonprofit special district funded, not by tax dollars, but a portion of civil filing fees for the Superior Court of California, County of Kern.

We are open to the public and access to the library is free. Our hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. We are closed on all court holidays.
While you are in the library, please take the time to fill out one of our surveys. We would like your feedback on how well we are doing and how we can improve.
